THE INTRIGUING CASE OF THE SILENT FOREST
The Thursday Group is a performance collective lead by Matthew Crosby and Kathleen Doyle, investigating how the actor in a poor theatre space creates sectarian ritual in the human play-scape and how the audience gaze transforms the rite of performance. Experimentation with gesture, speech/incantation, the ritual of meeting, eating, locating and viewing is documented. The group is currently involved in a slow-burn laboratory of nuanced Suzuki-training practice applied to ‘The Intriguing Case of the Silent Forest’, a play-text written by Crosby.
